The AC Isolator is the basic solution for the majority of industrial and service applications especially in the solar/PV installations. AV Isolators are installed between Inverters and equipment(electric appliances)to ensure the on-load breaking and making of circuits and safely isolate all low-voltage electrical circuits by providing protection against contact with live parts and environmental elements.
Main rules for choosing the right AC Isolator Switch:
Check only with the current Ignore the voltage( all range of voltage can be satisfied)
1.Types of enclosure isolator:
Aswich designs two different types of handle:
EAS 50 series Pad-lockable handle
ie:20A 35A 63A
JHAS69 series Rotary handle
ie:20A 25A 32A 40A 63A 80A
The selection of each type is based on your requirement.
2.Pole option
Based on our experience for various projects all over the world.
Clients most will choose 2P /3P/ 4P,among which 3P/ 4P are mostly used.
2P Only suitable for single phase
3P Suitable for both single phase and three phase
4P Suitable for three phase, if your contact is three phase, we recommend 4P for you
3.Choose the right current of switch
If it’s Single phrase: current=voltage for the project/ (local single phrase voltage)
Your pick current must > project operation current
E.g. the install power for your project is 5KW, local Single-Phase Voltage is 220V, calculated operated current will be 5000/220=23A, so you have to choose the isolator’s current >23A,most cost efficient way is to choose the current closed to 23A, we advice you to use JHAS69 25A (Rotary handle), EAS50 35A if applied for Pad-lockable handle
If it’s three phrase, current=voltage for the project (local three phrase voltage)
Your pick current must > project operation current
E.g. A 12KW solar project for commercial, local three phrase is 380V, calculated operated current will be=12000/380=31.6A,so you have to choose the isolator’s current >31.6A,most cost efficient way is to choose the current closed to 31.6A, we advice you to use JHAS69 32A or EAS50 35A
